This page is dedicated to the life lessons we are teaching our children, beginning at the age of one. Some are serious, some are fun, all are worth learning.
- Week of August 4- Poop is not a toy.
- Week of August 11- Eating your crib is ill-advised and Your bottle is not a rocket-ship.
- Week of August 18- Lily is not a horse and thus will not be ridden as one. She also does not enjoy being strangled or having her face mauled.
- Week of August 25- Boundaries are essential to emotional and mental health. No one can make you feel bad, you choose to feel bad.
- Week of September 1- Work is inherently good. Work is not a result of sin or the fall. It is part of God’s original design for humanity. We are His workmanship created to do His work. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
- Week of September 8- We do not live in a nudest colony. Thus, clothing is not optional. No shirt, no shorts, no service.
- Week of September 15- Two objects (a.k.a. two infants) cannot occupy the same space at the same time. #Science
- Week of September 22- Good food takes time.
- Week of September 29- You may recall the first life lesson, “Poop is not a toy.” Well, please also note that Poop is not food. Suggestion to parents, do not bathe your child after a high fiber breakfast.
- Week of October 6- Share your toys, not your germs.
- Week of October 13- Unbeknownst to Theo, everything is not a Mama.
- Week of October 20- Not all toys are balls. A boat is not a ball, a cup is not a ball, a large barn is not a ball. Therefore, not all toys should be thrown.
- Week of October 27- Biting is not a suitable way to ask your sibling for a toy.
- Week of November 3- The number of cause and effect relationships in the world are too many to count. Cause: You put your hand in your sister’s mouth. Effect: She bites you. Cause: She put her hand in your mouth. Effect: You bite her.
- Week of November 10- While patience, strength and energy may waver, Love never will.
- Week of November 17- Good morning smiles and Good night kisses make the best bread in the sandwich of life.
- Week of November 24- Thanksgiving is not only a holiday but a daily practice that fosters joy.
- Week of December 1- Silence is truly golden.
- Week of December 8- Hark! The herald Angels sing, Glory to the newborn King. The true reason for the season!
- Week of December 15- Whining is not the best way to spread Christmas Cheer, please do not whine loud for all to hear.
- Week of December 22- Poop is not like Christmas Joy. You do not need to spread it near or far.
- Week of December 29- Unbeknownst to Bella, everything is not a Dada.
- Week of January 12- “The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” (Lamentations 3:25)
- Week of January 26- There are four words I hope that my children are never afraid to ask or say, “Why” and “I don’t know.”
